Appraisal Assistant/Report Typist

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Real Estate Appraiser Assistant. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our appraisal process by handling administrative tasks and ensuring efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Creating appraisal orders and ensuring all necessary details are accurately recorded.
• Scheduling appointments and confirming availability with clients and property owners.
• Typing appraisal reports based on appraiser's notes and findings.
• Sending completed appraisal reports out for final typing and distribution.
• Assisting in maintaining organized files and records of appraisal reports.
• Communicating effectively with clients, property owners, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Performing other administrative duties as assigned to support the appraisal team.

Requirements:

• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in typing and word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and summarize data accurately.
• Previous experience in real estate or appraisal industry preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications such as courses in real estate or related fields are a plus.

Responsibilities

•Work with industry professionals such as real estate agents, assessors, real estate brokers, lenders or financial institutions, and mortgage underwriters, as needed
•Present assessment results by preparing the necessary appraisal report
•Schedule and attend on-site residential property or office building visits to conduct appraisal inspection and note the condition of the property, any special features, and nearby properties that may impact property value
•Remain up to date on current regulations, building codes, real estate law, standards, and real estate market best practices
•Synthesize collected data to determine the current market value and potential future value

Qualifications

•Required state license or certification from a reputable appraisal organization such as Appraisal Institute or the Appraisal Foundation
•Previous use of MS Office and other relevant software required
•Exceptional analytical, research, problem-solving, and time-management skills required
•College coursework in finance, real estate law, math, communications, computer science, and economics required, bachelor's degree preferred
•Communication skills, both written and verbal, should be exceptional
