Job Details
Clinical Chart Review Registered Nurse:
The Clinical Chart Review RN will collaborate with CDI Specialists, Coders, and Providers to provide secondary case review and ensure accurate and thorough clinical documentation. The Clinical Chart Review RN will direclty enhance patient outcomes by improving Case Mix Index (CMI) and Geometric Mean Length of Stay (GMLS).
Qualifications:
BSN Degree Required
Must have 3 or more years RN experience in a hospital setting
Extensive clinical knowledge and understanding of the disease processes, pathophysiology, and disease management/treatment
Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) - OR - Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) required
Coding Certification (CCS, CIC, CPC) preferred
Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, APR DRG, and MS DRG required
Strong critical thinking & attention to detail
Active TX RN license or ability to gain state licensure
