Essential Functions: Serves as the liaison and consults with agency staff to clarify information uses for publications, media requests and community outreach programs to generate content for the news media, social media, and agency newsletter. Creates and maintains essential website content utilizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Maintains regular access to sensitive and confidential information. Participates in agency meetings and other meetings with external partners. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in journalism, English or public speaking. Requires two (2) years of professional experience in a public education and information program in a public or private agency. Specialized Skills: Requires two (2) years of professional experience utilizing writing, editing, and communication skills in a public relations area of a public or private organization. Requires two (2) years of professional experience working with website and social media content. Conditions of Employment: Requires ability to pass a background check. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires the ability to pass a writing test (writing samples required). Requires the ability to work outside of normal hours to meet deadlines. Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid drivers' license. Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be required to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime.
