That success is driven by Kalderos' greatest asset, our people. Our team thrives on the problems that we solve, is driven to innovate, and thrives on the feedback of their peers. Our team is passionate about what they do and we are looking for people to join our company and our mission.

That's where you come in! We're looking for an early/mid-level Data Scientist (2 - 4 years experience) to support the Technology Team in Data Science, Analytics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Generative AI. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and naturally curious about technology, data, and healthcare with a desire to gain experience at a high-growth technology company.

This is a full-time Data Scientist role which can be based in Chicago, IL or Boston, MA. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

What You'll Do

As a Data Scientist, you will focus on classical machine learning and deep learning techniques to solve complex problems in the healthcare space. You will be expected to design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to support strategic business decisions, driving ROI through data-driven solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, healthcare domain experts, and product managers, to turn insights into scalable applications.

  • Develop and implement machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning models (neural networks), and statistical techniques to solve healthcare-related problems.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights, focusing on delivering actionable business outcomes in healthcare operations and patient care.
  • Collaborate with business and domain experts to understand project objectives, translate them into technical solutions, and demonstrate clear value propositions.
  • Work on real-world applications of data science, including but not limited to predictive modeling, medical image analysis, natural language processing (NLP), and decision support systems.
  • Evaluate model performance and apply best practices for model validation and improvement, ensuring that models provide reliable and interpretable results.
  • Develop end-to-end solutions, from data preprocessing and feature engineering to model deployment and monitoring.
  • Present findings to non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical details into clear, business-friendly recommendations that contribute to decision-making.
  • Ensure the practical application of data science methods, focusing on delivering ROI for business objectives and continuously improving model accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and healthcare technologies to bring innovative solutions to the organization.
What You'll Bring
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist, with a focus on classical machine learning and deep learning in real-world applications.

  • Programming: Strong programming skills in Python and experience with libraries like Pandas, Scikit-learn, NumPy, and TensorFlow.
  • Healthcare Focus: Familiarity with healthcare data, including EHR (Electronic Health Records), medical imaging, claims data, and patient outcomes.
  • Problem Solving & Business Orientation: A practical, ROI-driven mindset with the ability to apply data science techniques to generate tangible business value, improving operational efficiency, patient outcomes, or profitability.
  • Data Visualization & Communication: Ability to present complex findings in a clear and effective manner using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Tableau to make data accessible to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Model Deployment: Experience in deploying machine learning models into production environments and monitoring their performance over time.
