Job Description
About PanCAN:
Pancreatic cancer doesn't stop or slow down, and neither do we. At the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN), we accelerate critical progress for pancreatic cancer patients. We take bold action by funding life-saving research, providing personalized patient services free of charge, and creating a community of supporters and volunteers who will stop at nothing to create a world in which all pancreatic cancer patients thrive. We're looking for people who, like us, will stop at nothing to make progress for patients. Our work is critical and meaningful, and it changes lives every day. Join us and be a part of it!
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Vice President of National Leadership Giving, the Director of Research and Prospect Management is responsible for providing a comprehensive range of research, prospect management and analysis to inform decision-making and strategies to grow PanCAN's community through donor and prospect pipelines. PanCAN is preparing to launch a new and exciting chapter, one that will allow us to move faster than ever toward early detection, better treatments, and new ways of supporting patients and their caregivers. No other major cancer has a five-year survival less than 20%, and we are committed to driving our community to that milestone by 2030. This kind of progress will require big bets and bold strategies. In addition to our 2030 five-year survival goal, we have also committed to 1) raising $80M annually and 2) growing PanCAN (and pancreatic cancer) awareness in the US to 30% by 2030.
The Director, Research and Prospect Management, will design, build and implement the research and prospect management systems and structure to ensure that philanthropic potential is optimized through the identification and qualification of prospective donors consistent with PanCAN's priorities and objectives. The role will work closely across the Community Building and Growth department and with key stakeholders across the organization to provide insight and deliver data-centric recommendations to leadership for organizational planning.
