ABOUT ATRIA:

Atria is a membership-based preventive health care practice delivering cutting-edge primary and specialty care from the comfort of your home, at our practices in Palm Beach and New York, or wherever you are in the world.

We bring together a multidisciplinary team of renowned, in-house physicians to provide proactive, preventive, and precision-based care for Atria members and their families. We aim to optimize the lifespan and healthspan of all our members through meticulous screening and tailored interventions to prevent, reverse, or manage all major chronic diseases.

Each member’s care is led by a dedicated Chief Medical Officer who collaborates on your behalf with specialists in cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, gynecology, endocrinology, performance and movement, and more. Our exceptional clinicians also work closely with the 60+ members of the Atria Academy of Science & Medicine, top experts in their respective fields who are available for rapid consults, support, and referrals.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Genetic Counselor to join our multidisciplinary team at the Atria Institute in New York City. The successful candidate will work under the direction of Atria medical leadership and a medical geneticist, facilitating and implementing a system to offer, order, and interpret preventive genomic screening and pharmacogenomic testing for all Atria members, which include both children and adults. • Counseling and education: As needed for certain indication based cases, elicit medical and family histories, construct pedigrees to assess genetic risk, explain available testing options, including risks, benefits, and limitations, and provide genetic education, counseling, and psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Testing coordination: Coordinate genetic screening and testing and return of results, and facilitate referrals as indicated.
  • Documentation and reporting: Perform administrative and operational clinical activities, including record review, patient charting, and writing detailed consultation reports.
  • Clinical expertise: Demonstrate in-depth medical knowledge across various medical practice areas, interpret genetic results under the direction of a medical geneticist.
  • Research and quality improvement: Participate in research and clinical care, collaborate on quality improvement projects, and implement systems to collect, maintain, and analyze whole genome data to facilitate integration into healthcare.
  • Additional responsibilities to be determined as the role evolves and new needs arise.

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and an ability to navigate the unique needs and expectations of Atria members while maintaining the highest standards of medical and ethical practice.
